Ready to walk, eat, and live lighter this fall? 🍂 Our Embrace You W.E.L.L. Walks are the perfect way to level up your health and wellness journey—one step at a time!


We're proud to have the Black Physician & Healthcare Network (BPHN) as our trusted education and outreach partner for the third year in a row. This season, we’re thrilled to join forces with Walk With a Doc, bringing expert guidance and a welcoming community to support you as you achieve your wellness goals.


Join us for every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month for an invigorating walk, engaging discussions, and great company! Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness or learn simple, impactful ways to improve your health, we’ve got you covered.

Walk Recaps:
September 14, 2024

We kicked off the session with a 2.33-mile health walk to promote physical activity and set a positive tone for the day. The topic focused on Is Obesity Really a Disease? How Does It Relate to CKM Syndrome?

The conversation highlighted:

  • Obesity is a complex medical condition that requires care and management.

  • CKM Syndrome (Cardiometabolic Kidney Syndrome): We explored how obesity contributes to this syndrome, impacting cardiovascular, kidney, and metabolic health.


Participants engaged in lively discussions and received health info cards, snacks, water, and hand water opportunity the to use an online Health Prevent Calculator to assess their CKM risk.


September 28, 2024

In our second session, we teamed up with GirlTrek for a 2.88-mile walk that welcomed participants of all fitness levels. Our topic was What Are Easy Ways to Live Lighter and Improve My Health?

The conversation highlighted:

  • Life’s Essential 8 Score: We introduced the eight essential factors for heart health and longevity, empowering participants with simple, attainable changes to improve their health.


    Participants shared reflections on what resonated with them from the previous session, leading to insightful conversations. Resources included healthy snacks, water, health info cards, and access to Life’s Essential 8 Score Calculator, and Your PREVENT Score Calculator on MDCalc.


October 12th, 2024

In our fourth session, we teamed up with GirlTrek again for a 2.45-mile walk. Our topic was Life’s Essential 8 - Eat Better for Your Health and Bone Health. The conversation highlighted: how healthy eating supports overall wellness and bone health, emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet for preventing chronic disease and maintaining strong bones.


October 26th, 2024

In our fourth session, we teamed up with GirlTrek again for a 2.88-mile walk. Our topic was Breast Cancer Prevention through Food and Movement. The conversation highlighted: Understanding how nutrient-rich foods and active lifestyles can lower the risk of breast cancer and improve overall health. We highlighted our Breast Cancer Awareness Blog that is full of tips to lower one's risk and calculate one's risk factor.


Ongoing Program Until April 2025!

We’re thrilled to announce that our Embrace You W.E.L.L. Walks will continue through April 2025, with rolling registration, so you can join in anytime! We are currently in our Fall Session, and there’s no better time to start prioritizing your health.
